A Canadian study in 2005 confirmed that Essiac was beneficial to a man with prostate cancer without any significant side effects.

Origins

Cancer was rare until becoming more common in the 20th century industrialization period.  The story of Essiac tea traces back to an Ojibwa medicine man in Canada who shared the herbal formula with a patient. This patient, after allegedly curing her breast cancer with the remedy, later shared the recipe with Rene Caisse.
